Great topic. my best success with follow-up is to forward my initial pitch and include 1-2 sentences such as "I never heard back on below..." and then in 1-2 sentences, state what's most compelling about your pitch. I actually have more luck/responses from my followup than my initial emails.

Congrats Lidia! I'm heading down that same path in May so I think the office will be super helpful once I'm back in the swing of things! Best of luck to you!

I too have been pondering this, as I have a new baby. Once he is a bit older, I will likely need an office. However a 'pro' for me now is being able to see him throughout the day! And taking the dog for walks...I enjoy the break from work and exercise. Good luck in your new office!

Pros from working from home to me are almost exclusively convenience - unless you have a dedicate space to close off and shut the lights off at night, it's often challenging to avoid the distractions. How did you find this space?

Thanks Janet! Yes, I did find an office space. If you're in the Williamsburg, Brooklyn area, check out The Yard (http://workattheyard.com/). I'm actually doing a blog post about working from home vs. an office next week and I include more details on my new space. Thanks for reading and good luck in 2012 :-)
